No 4g signal - Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen

Wife opened new, unlocked Motorola Moto G 3rd generation this morning. She is on a pay-monthly SIM only, comes with 2GB data and should include 4G.
SIM is a month old, was full size but was "pushed out" this morning and inserted in new phone.
Moto G is set to 4G as preferred network. At the moment the phone is displaying H+ and not 4G. I'm sat next to her with my Nexus 5 which is displaying 4G.
Do we need to contact Vodafone? Do we somehow need to get 4G activated?

Hi

Try turning off , remove SIM card and wipe it with a soft cloth, reinsert and turn back on.

Did she get 4G from that sim when being used in the previous phone ? Or was it a non 4G handset ?

4G comes as standard as per http://www.vodafone.co.uk/shop/bundles-and-sims/sim-only-deals/index.htm

The phone just seeks out the strongest signal it can detect. Some phones are better at latching onto signal than others.

Hi,
Thanks for the response.
The old phone was a rather old Samsung Nexus, so wasn't 4G compatible. So we've never actually received a 4G signal with this SIM.
On my Nexus 5 I'm currently on a 4-bar 4G connection, so I must admit I'm just assuming the newer Moto G would easily be able to grab the 4G signal if I can.
I'll try removing the SIM and reinstalling. Could also try my SIM in her phone I guess - at least confirms phone is doing as it should.

Yes please do try your sim in her phone and her sim in your phone if possible.

A good process of elimination.

If you do get stuck then Live Chat and or Customer service on 191 when they reopen will be able to look at her account.

So, removed her SIM, cleaned and replaced, still H+. Inserted my SIM, 4g signal. Put her SIM back in - 4g. So, don't know how or why, but we're 4g now.
Cheers - Merry Christmas.
