No device found (VMC) - windows 7 x64

I have a Lenovo X200 with the build-in Ericsson f3507g mobile broadband data card. I installed the latest VMC software (version 9.4.6.20529)on windows 7 x 64.
When I try "Add device" in "Manage Devices" on Vodafone Mobile Connect I get a "No device found" error after a few minutes . VMC cannot find the data card. I know that this card is working normally as I can connect to vodafone network through lenovo "ThinkVantage access connection" software and with windows 7 directly through their network and internet application. The software conflict resolution settings in VMC does not show any conflict.

Is there any fix to that problem?

Thanks
Raphael

Hi WhiteCube, and welcome to the eForum!

This does sound strange, but does appear to be an error on your Windows side of things. I'm not Microsoft Accredited so can't advise an in-depth walk-through on how to resolve this, but from previous 64bit incarnation (Vista, XP) issues, I can say that fixes in those cases have not been quick or easy.

I will have a word with some of our Windows experts to see what we can suggest if anything at all. In the meanwhile, perhaps some of the community can help?

I always recommend saving a recent restore point just in case anything goes awry!

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks Daz,

I have run again VMC, then I opened ThinkVantage Access Connections ( from Lenovo) then the autoresolve feature of VMC found a conflict with ThinkVantage Access Connections. So I uninstalled Thinkvantage solution but when I run VMC again, it still cannot find my card. Does this help you in unterstanding what is going wrong?

Try right clicking on the VMC icon on your desktop.
A menu will appear.
Left click on 'properties'
left click the 'compatability' tab.
Check the box which reads 'run this program in compatability mode for' then choose 'Vista' from the drop down box.
Click 'Okay' and close the menu.
Try running VMC again.
