Me and my wife currently have no phone signal at my home.
I bought my my phone on the basis of the signal checker showing a good 2G signal. The signal was never verified to start with as we have always had a Sure signal so any problems would have been masked by the Sure signal. The Sure signal has now failed and I discover that we have no over the air signal at all. Both phones work perfectly at other locations.
I am posting this after having had a number of conversations with Vodafone on line and at the branch. the suggestion has been that we have to buy a new Sure signal. I have completely objected to this as Vodafone (according to their own signal coverage map) show that they can provide a good 2G signal. Why should I pay extra for a service that Vodafone clearly state is there?
It's outrageous to suggest I spend more to get what I am entitled to. See the reality below. No signal.....coverage good indoors and out!!!

3) Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone? Both me an my wife have the same issue and we are both Vodafone
4) What errors are seen or heard when the issue occurs? Calls drop out all the time phone doesn't work at all downstairs
5) Does this happen on 2G, 3G, 4G or all? All
6) When did you first notice this issue? When my sure signal started giving trouble
7) Is the issue permanent or intermittent? If intermittent, are there certain times of the day when it occurs? Permanent

@skodster - I’ve checked the coverage in your area and 2G is showing as patchy. Your local sites are all performing as they should be.
The coverage maps are computer generated estimates of the coverage in your area. You’ll always need to try the signal in real world conditions, to confirm how it is.

That's unacceptable. What is the purpose of a map that shows coverage only to be told that the map is incorrect?
When I went into your store, they were adamant that the signal in my area was good. I have a service that is not fit for purpose as I work from home and partially rely on my mobile working.
If I were to take this to the Trading standards, I am sure that they would find in my favour!
Here's your last chanceto sort this out to my satisfaction! I am not going to waste any more time tinkering with this. My next call will be to the trading standards.

Regardless of your location... If the loss of signal is of no direct result of your actions, and it was never explained to you before agreeing to your mobile contract that the signal may be weak, poor or sporadic in your area, then you have rights to cancel under the supply of goods and services act 1982.

That act was relaced by the consumer rights act some time ago.
How long have you had the contract?

When you take out a phone contract you have a defined cooling off period. That was 14 days at one time but it's been 30 days for some time now. That gives anyone ample time to work out if the contract suits them and the signal is where they need it to be.
Taking a year to work out that you have no signal at your home is not reasonable. The rules are not open ended and I would be amazed if you get any sympathy from trading standards. You certainly won't get anything out of Vodafone.
