I am not happy with voda I have had my galaxy s5 6 weeks I asked them first will they be doing any offers like this and they said no, voda would of known a while about this offer as something like this don't just happen over night and now they pull this offer out after they said that they will not have such offer, had I known I would of waited 6 weeks as the watch is £200 in retail , I have now made a complaint and have rang them this is unfair on people that have contracts on voda , anyway I going to write to head office and also going to find a way to get out my contract I been with voda many years have 2 mobiles paying over £90 a month and yet they will not send me one out. I have wrote up a letter to ofcom as existing customers basically get kicked in the teeth and still they pester me twice a week trying to sell me something, but when you ask for something they don't want to know I am not happy about this at all voda I feel lied to and robbed . On top of that phone marked in the top right corner second phone s5 I have had in 6 weeks for problems and it keeps freezing crashing fingerprint crap and sometimes the screen goes black and I have to remove battery in order for this to work and it's not dust proof I have a gap in mine that let's in crap The first one I had was scratched on the side and I had to send it back. Hard to see I had to buy a jel case just to hid the marks

Hi there

Firstly, please do no post the same thing over and over - this is regarded as spamming and goes against the House Rules.  You only need to post once.

As for the issue you are having about the gear watch. I'm afraid that, 6 weeks ago, the call centre staff wouldn't have know about the promotion so they wouldn't have been able to tell you about it. Yes, the promotion would have been known about, but at a much higher level than the call centres and stores. The details of the promotion would have only been communicated to the customer facing teams a few days before the actual promotion.  So the information you were given at the time was correct.

There is nothing unfair about it - it is a promotion that has come into effect since you took out the contract. I am not sure what you are complaining about, nor what you expect Ofcom to do (especially as they don't deal with individual complaints). You will not get a gear watch for the simple reason being is that you got the contract weeks ago and not now when the promotion is running.

Promotions come and go all the time with different companies. Will you be complaining to Tesco because the milk you bought this week is on promo next week?

If you want to get out your contract, you can - all you need to do is pay for all the time remaining in your contract.  It could be quite pricey as you have only just started your contract.

I am in the Middle of the same argument

But with me it was one day after my cool off ended

the Upgrades team (UK) said that if they could book one out to me they would but there bundled with a phone

and as i am out of my cool of they could not swop as they did not have the powere to do this

But i also asked when i was taking this if there was any Bundle deal as all the other Samsung devices had this from the start i was told No

i was told to speak to CS and well they were a wast of energy even after a phone back

But at no point did they even offer me a change to my contract of any thing basicly tuff

If they are stck with them there going the wroung way round

as well there not free

on the phone they offer a deal at £37 over the phone the same deal on line  with watch is £47 the watch is worth £149 so your paying £249 over your contract so thats not free

I have been complaing on how customers get treated just asking about this basicly after the old seven day not 14 day cool off its tuff

What I also notice with voda once you are in contract they think they to speak to you like a piece of dirt, yetthey still ring me weekly trying to sell me something else it's a joke on customers they have had for a while , every one I have spoke to at voda use the same line a ie a super market and a bottle of milk , you can't compare a £200 watch to a bottle of milk must be in there training, yet companies like sky always offer existing customers great deals so why can't voda do the same. Or atleast a discount on the gear for existing customers.

I am not a Vodafone employee, so the opinions are my own.  Ignoring the value for a moment, the milk analogy (or chocolate bar as I used in another thread) is pretty close to what happened here.  At the end of the day you wouldn't go back to Tesco a week later and ask for them to give you the promo on milk that they are currently running would you?

I think that @jeffkinn did a really good analogy yesterday.  He compared it to buying a TV at Currys this week and then next week Currys launch a promotion where you get a free blue ray player.  You could ask for the blue ray player but you wouldn't be entitled to it and Currys wouldn't actually give it to you.

I think these complaints are completely ridiculous. All companies offer promotions from time to time. They start on a specific date and end on a specific date and if you have bought something on either side of that date you will lose out - irritating but hardly treating anyone like dirt.

Last week my sister bought a TV from a small chain of stores in our part of the world - a 46 inch Samsung Smart TV. The day after it was delivered they received an email from the chain promoting a 50 inch Sony TV for the same price. Were they being treated like dirt? Of course not.
