My phone just recieved a new update 10.3.1.1565

after my update i recieved this message 'it looks like you've swapped your sim or updated your device. To continue using data and sending picture messages, you need to update your settings manually, as your device doesnt support automatic settings updates get started at vodafone.co.uk/settingsinfo but when i click the link its not telling how to do it can anyone help please?

I didn't have to do anything, email and text messages come through OK, and data usage is OK

Hi,

I'm not too sure about the settings issue. I updated to and all seems well so far; it'd different you'd expect that; I'm still learning.

I found this by typing in the link you provided on a PC. There's more on there I suggest you take a look.

Automatically

Simply text WEB to 40127 and the correct internet and picture messaging settings will be sent to your device by text.

You’ll find the settings in the second text/configuration message we send you, once your settings arrive you may need to accept or install them to make them active.

thanks i tried that but recieved the same message back my phone is working ok just hope i am not getting charged for the data usage

I'd contact vodafore support and the mods on here. Be prepared for a wait though.

Did that update Saturday. It's a real improvement. If only we had the trackpad (yes I know it's on the Classic) we would be back to being as good as the old Bold. Daft isn't it. It's taken blackberry 2 years to go back to base.

If we had trackpad this would be OK but those tiny icons are awaful! Plus ringtones are much quieter along with a few other niggles.

My advice to anyone would be switch off auto-update and wait a little while until these bugs are "fixed" which hopefully will be soon. Rolling back to 10.2 is very difficult or at least it's difficult to roll back and then restore a previous backup - that's my experience anyway!

I'm a long time BB user (many years) and seriously considering going to Android next month when this contract expires...........

the strange thing is my auto OS update has been off since last year after a major cockup that wiped my phone.

no one will admit it but somehow this has been a forced update that has somehow turned my auto update on which im not happy about.

its got to the point where i had to buy a new bb passport last night for full price as my Q10 phone now since update cannot be used for my life saving job in a hospital as i cannot hear the ringtone anymore.
