Only lights 1 and 2 are lit sometimes

My SS v1 works for up to 5 hours and then stops, leaving only light 1 and 2 on.  I then reset it and again it will work for a few hours and then stop with light 1 & 2 on.

I have bought a new power supply but it has not rectified the problem.

I have carried out hard reset still problem

Hello @rogersg18648

It may also be worth trying a different power supply with the SureSignal (Version 1 & 2 ), as there have been some reports of replacement power supplies solving the issues. Even if lights / power are showing. They are available on eBay for around £10.

From member cineriv

"But firstly, have a look around for a suitable unit with a 12 Volt output @ around 1.5Amp capacity that you could 'borrow' to prove the fault. Suitable units can be found on external hard drives, monitors, printers, routers etc.etc."

I have purchased a 12v 2amp power supply and yesterday I received a 12v 1.5amp both have given same results.  Again I am at the moment waiting for the unit to reset after finding it down to light 1 & 2 this morning.

Thank you for trying an alternative power supply.

Sorry it didn't help.

How long have you owned it as there is a 24 month warranty if it does turn out to be faulty.

it's way out of warranty I think got around 2008.

i have had some other issues over that time all have been rectified though. I am now wondering whether it might be a firmware problem.

Ah ok.

One of the Tech Team maybe able to look over your trace and help further.

I wish you all the best.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

@masefield - Apologies for the delay in looking into this for you.

Your traceroute looks fine and you're getting good speeds (download and upload).

Your Sure Signal spoke to us last on 23 April at 6.38pm.

Are you still having the same issue?

Thanks for getting back to me - I've in fact purchased another power supply. However, this morning all the usual lights are lit on the SS1, and it does appear to be working normally - i.e. signal strength seems to be complete. I'll check later on to check that the lights have remained lit for the rest of the day. I wonder if it's significant that my SS has actually "spoken" with you on 23rd April at 6:38pm.

@masefield - That's great, fingers crossed all should be fine now. :Smiling:
