PAYG credit going down whilst abroad despite allowance

Hi guys,

I've bought a PAYG sim for my trip to Greece and traded the top up for a Big Bundle (£10) which gives me 500mb inclusive roaming data and a number of mins / texts.

Whilst away I've been using wifi mainly but the Voda data has been handy whilst out and about for brief use. However, my Voda app tells me that my credit is diminishing and I've no idea why. I've nowhere near reached 500mb data use and have sent very few texts / made no calls.

Only thing I can put this down to is trying to send MMS which fails every time and instantly. Should I be charged for a failed MMS from my credit balance?

Also the app shows me my UK allowance - is there no way to see what remains of my roaming allowance?

Thanks.

Hi

It does sound like MMS is the culprit here as they are not part of your normal texting allowance.

Even tho they failed to send on your phone they may still show to Vodafone you've initiated the send.

Thanks, doesn't seem right I should be charged though when the MMS fails immediately. Ie. doesn't even try to send.

I wonder if Voda will reimburse?

So it's not the MMS. Left this evening with plenty credit. Not sent any MMS whilst out and just had a text to say I have zero credit - and therefore no more data roaming for the final day of my hols.

Not impressed Vodafone. Would welcome your comments on this, as I feel I've been mis-sold.

As a troubleshooting avenue try turning off Mobile Data in your phones settings and use wifi only to see then if your credit further reduces.

If your not back in the uk yet then I would suggest on your return to contact customer support on 191 or Live Chat who'll be able to access your account and look to see where your credit was used.

Back tomorrow so will use the online chat from the PC then. The live person app doesn't seem well designed to be used on mobiles as I've tried several times without success to resolve this issue using that service.

Thanks, will update.
