I have a Samsung s3 that is locked to Vodafone. I haven't used it for a couple of years so I want to unlock it and sell it. To do this I need the phone number. When I go to 'about device' it says the phone number is unknown?

You don't need the original phone number, being PAYG the number will now be disconnected for non use.
If you order a free SIM from the link below, you will be able to get the phone unlocked. This will mean using the SIM as PAYG on the network for 30 days after which time your will be able to get the phone unlocked by completing the form using the new PAYG number.
There is further information for you below.

Hi
Are you still a Vodafone customer ?
If so use your current sim in it for a few days and then request the unlock.
If not then pick up a payg Vodafone sim card and use it for at least 30 days to make calls, send texts and use data and then after the 30 days use the new payg info to request it's unlock.
