Payg - Different Modem

GavMJM

Hi,

Currently on PAYG Broadband with the E160X. If I get a different, unlocked, modem (specifically one with an external antenna socket), would everything work if I just transfer the SIM from the old to the new?

Thanks

Possibly...

You would need to transfer the settings from your old modem

From memory (I might be wrong) they are

Phone number to dial: *99***1#
Account name: web
Password: web
APN: pp.vodafone.co.uk

I am not sure of that APN line - on mine I leave it blank and it works OK for me!

I hope this is some help

Siddie.

p.s. - obviously you would also need the required drivers for the new modem too...

Hello GavMJM

I don't see any potential problems with doing this, however you may find that some modems require specific software to manage connectivity, for instance all Vodafone modems will work with Vodafone Mobile Connect, either way you can always keep us updated and we'll be more than happy to help out in any way, :)

You can also make reference to our current range of modems found on the Vodafone Website.
Thanks
