Platinum 7 NFC chip

Can anyone tell me where in the Smart Platinum 7 the NFC chip is located? When I use NFC for Android Pay it's very hit and miss, I pretty much have to slide the entire phone over the terminal.

My previous phone (Xperia Z Ultra) had a little NFC symbol on the back to show you where the chip was.

Sadly, the manual doesn't include information on the location of the antennae.

I think the only think you can do is, rather than slide the phone, place, lift and re-place it at the top, middle and bottom until the payment works.  With luck, this would allow you to locate the best siting.  Aerials are usually at the top, so I'd start with the camera area.   I'd have thought that down the bottom is least likely as this would normally be where you'd hold the device.

I thought that myself, just have to wait until I'm in a quiet shop so there's no pressure to be quick.

Sometimes though I do feel it's easier just to get my card out and pay, especially as I don't like to leave NFC on all the time. It's only really any use if you haven't got your card with you.

Using tags is a much better use for NFC.

I know there are qualms about NFC cards, but there's actually no much information that can be gleaned from reading the chip and I believe the information is encrypted or set as a token on the device anyway. I leave mine on.  Talk of "but look how close you have to get" is spurious as most readers are very low-power, but there doesn't seem to be any evidence of drive-bys.   I can't see how you could take money from the card/phone without a linked processing and bank account, which a fraudster would find hard to set up.
