Received A Invalid Response

I'm now getting so hacked off - can anyone help? More and more websites are not loading and just giving me a blank screen with
Received a invalid response

It started about 2 months ago - my laptop was knackered,
so I just thought it was that - but I now have a new laptop - top of the range
Windows 7 - it works perfectly, except I'm still getting
Received a invalid response
And it's now started on more sites.
Anyone know a solution or is this a reason for getting rid of the dongle?

Hey there Kalvin_Chapman,

Shame to hear this :(

It could be the modem at fault - can you tell us what speed you're connecting at, and how that relates to the light on the modem? Can you try the SIM in another modem, or even a mobile phone to see if there is a performance increase?

If it's actually the network, then this is a completely different issue and one that we'd need to raise a fault. If you're connecting at 3G (or HSDPA) with a blue / turquoise light, can you try setting to 2G only via the Vodafone Mobile Connect (download the latest version here if you need to)? Is your connect more stable, albeit slower?

Please let us know your findings to these queries and I'm confident that we'll resolve this for you!

Hey Daz

Im having the same probem with the same site as this guy ... ive tried changing to "2g only" but i dont seem to have that opition

Ive spoke to someone from vodafone about this probelm a few days ago , and i was told some sort of ban was in place ... he said he removed it and i would be able to acess the website but it didnt work for some reason.

Ive also tried the dongle sim in my mobile phone and my mobile phone sim in the dongle and the problem still stands, which would indicate to me its some sort of conflict between xtube and vodafone and not faulty devices

Hope the problem gets sorted soon :)

Yes. I still see this "Received a invalid response" intermittently too. Usually just hitting 'reload' on the affected tab brings up the missing page for me. It's probably got slightly more common for me in the past couple of weeks, but it's had phases of happening every so often over the past 6 months or more.

It seems to affect all site equally randomly, including BBC News site, and this forum - it's not restricted to -ahem- adult sites  .

I try OpenDNS or some Pipex DNS servers from time to time, but I think I'm on Voda's automatic selection at the moment.

Hi I have the same issue, white pages coming up all over the place with "Received a invalid response"
I have updated to the latest software, changed to opendns, nothing works, is there a fix for this yet from Vodafone, it seems to have been a problem for ages, you guys must have sorted it by now.

Hi paulbarl,

As you've quite rightly spotted, we fixed this issue back in November, as there have been no further reports of it since then.

Can you tell me what websites are affected and how often you experience the issue?

Also, verify for me what browser make and version you're using, your Operating System, and which make and model of Modem you're having this problem with?

I have this problem too, using Chrome or IE on Windows 7. It seems quite a common problem on Googling.

I have the same problem resolved it with a K3520 dongle by removing the sim, inserting it into by bb and forcing a manual network search.

However, the K3765 is still suffering from unresolved dns for a number of sites - sadly many of the ones I need for work.

Using OpenDNS helps but I still get a few un-resolved requests.

I have recently been getting this problem, but only on 3G, Wifi is fine. What to do?
