Reporting lost/stolen phone when Vodafone systems are down

DNS
1: Seeker

I am trying to report a lost/stolen phone from 23.00 on 9 October until early morning of 10 October.

The official report line is refusing to take calls to report lost/stolen phones because of an unspecified 'emergency'.

The chatline is unavailable because there are insufficient staff available to meet demand.

There is no option to report a lost/stolen phone online.

All other phone lines are inoperable as they are out of hours.

So, so far as I can see, it is not possible for me to report a lost/stolen phone.

This should NEVER be the case.

Please advise urgently what I should do.

Hi,

The numbers should work.

"If your device has been lost or stolen, you should call us immediately on 03333 040 191 (standard call charges apply). If you’re calling from abroad, it’s +44 7836 191 191 free from any Vodafone phone (standard international call charges apply from other mobiles or landlines)." From I-ve-lost-my-phone-what-should-I-do.

Live Chat is 24/7 and sometimes using a computer , clearing your cookies and caches and allowing pop ups to work. Leaving the chat window open while an agent becomes free.

Which phone has this happened to ?

I ask as iPhones and Android phones as two examples have 'find my phone' software, and can also block / wipe in lost modes.

Was your phone protected by an entry pin / fingerprint or lock pattern.

Was your SIM card protected with a Sim Pin which stops someone ejecting your SIM card and using it in another phone.

If not change any passwords that may have been breached.

Tip > When you do speak with Vodafone they'll imei block the phone and place an account bar. When they send you a replacement sim you may need to get that activated and specifically ask for the account bar to be lifted so it'll work.

@DNS If you use the block / wipe option on your phone (if it has it ) remember that this operation does not block the sim, for that you will still need to call Vodafone.
