Samsung Galaxy S6 completely dead!

I've had my S6 just over a month and up until last night I had no problems with it, however this morning the phone is completely dead. It was left on overnight (as I use it as my alarm clock) it had plenty of battery charge but this morning it had turned itself off and it would not turn back on, I've tried attaching it to a charger (wifi and plugged) but I'm getting no lights coming on at all.

Has anyone else had this problem or any ideas of what else I can try.

Hi Hrym...look at the s6 1 pic (the top blue line) there is NO DRAIN.. the fone just turns off after 6am...I was monitoring the charging circuit whilst the fone was plugged into its charger...there was no significant charge going into the fone (0.2ma)...i would have expected at least 1.5ma!!! If you look at when the fone eventually awakens the battery state is virtually the same as when it dies...there are lots of issues with the s6 battery drain (mobile radio active and lollipop etc) oh well I'll get this returned ASAP as I cannot trust it's reliability...

@nockmeister - Out of curiosity, have you tried another charger?  I am just wondering if the adaptive fast charger that comes with the device is playing up?

When did you get the handset and where from? Was a Vodafone Store, another retailer, online on Vodafone.co.uk?

Hi drey_p

I tried the adaptive charger, and my old S3 charger. I then tried two third party chargers, all with roughly the same results, the fone was not charging from any source...My last option was a mains powered USB socket...Whilst plugged into this, I tried to do a soft reset which eventually was successful, and then I believe the fone started to charge!!   The fone was purchased through Carfone Warehouse on the 8th May, then transferred to Vodafone (long story involving number transfer  )

It is sounding more and more like there is a fault on the device itself, possibly with the charging circuit.

As the phone was purchased through CarphoneWarehouse, take the phone back to them and get them to check it out.  They will probably send the device off for repair for a few days.  You can also get in touch with your local Samsung Repair Centre and have them look it over if you find you aren't getting anywhere with CarphoneWarehouse.

Before you send it off, have you tried a factory reset of the device?  The repair center will do that anyway but it may be worth trying yourself just in case there is something on the phone that is causing the issue.

i agree with drey_p, pop along to a samsung repair centre within carphone warehouse, they fixed my s6 firmware issue within 90 minutes, also if it is hardware they can also repair with 24 hours on site providing they have parts. If not convenient to get to a store contact samsung support via samsung website where they can do remote diagnostics and if needs to be repaired they will send out a pre paid bag to send phone off, when my S5 needed sendng off i posted it on Monday and had it returned repaired by the friday
