Samsung Galaxy S8 and my Nano Sim

I upgraded and recieved my S8 today, along with a nano-sim that came with it from Vodaphone.

 

My old sim that I had in the note 4 is too large to fitinside the S8, so I have to use the nano-sim that came with it. However, I am not able to activate my the nano-sim via the online form (I also can't recvieve texts from my old sim card).

How do I activate my nano-sim so that i'm able to make/receive calls, etc?

Hi @Xaero

 

The nano SIM Vodafone sent you should be blank and numberless and there should be no reason for Customer Services not being in a position to swap your number.

 

However, it is recommended to get the SIM swap done through a Vodafone store, this way it will be done within the hour.

I tried using the online form but there aren't enough digits on the nano-sims serial to complete the form, I will probably have to visit a store tomorrow.

Recently upgraded to an S8 through my contract with Vodafone and went through the steps to get my old sim transferred to my new nano-sim. 

Received an email saying the swap was done and I should be good to go, yet every time I tap my mobile data, it tells me to "Insert SIM card to access network services" and when I click on the cog wheel and go to connections, there is no "mobile network" option either.

I've reset the network settings, rebooted the device after taking the sim out (etc), done a factory reset from the phone and tried a factory reset from the boot loader, but nothing has worked.

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Sometimes a sim swap can take 24 hours to settle and complete. 

Can you try sending a text to 40127 saying WEB

You can manually input the apn settings in your phone- vodafone-apn-settings

Do calls and texts work fine ?

If all else fails a Vodafone High street Store might be able to help you.
