Not wanting to hi jack this thread but before starting a fresh one...
I have just (TODAY) bought a usb vodafone topup and go dongle. I'm running it (trying to) on a DELL Inspiron 1525 laptop running Vista Ultimate.
I originally had same problem as others with VBScript, sorted via Voda help line. I am now getting the same problem as ciderapple.
I get the following message when trying to connect even though a signal is available,
-------------------------
Mobile connection not possible.
-Set your current mobile device as the default device in the "Manage Devices" view
-Ensure that no other programs are using your mobile device and try again in a short while
-Delete the device in the "Manage Devices" view, add it back again, and then try connecting.
If this error persists, please contact Support at your mobile network operator.
Support information:
RAS error code 31
--------------------------
Any other thoughts please as the guy at Voda support suggested and tried many things but to no avail.
I have tried it on my desktop XP PC and it installs and works fine..
Sorry to Ciderapple for sticking this on the end of the post but maybe it will give other ideas for people to fix both problems..
p.s I tried the bluetooth OFF/ON Wifi OFF/ON etc to no effect.
(I will try it on another Vista machine tommorrow which is running the HOME version)
Many thanks.. Phil
