Solution

Sky MER and SS

Recently took out an iPhone SIM only tariff with VF and at the same time ordered a SS box as I knew there was no VF 3G at home (only get Edge)

I should have read these forums before ordering really as my ISP is Sky and my D-LINK Sky router was changed over to MER the other week, which apparently wont work with the SS box?

Are VF working on this issue, considering Sky are in the process of changing over all their Broadband users from PPPoA to MER?

Hi guys,

I've just had word back from our Sure Signal engineers that the new Sky IP ranges mentioned on the last page have now been added to our firewall whitelist.

Can anyone on Sky who was in that IP range please let me know if your Sure Signal is now working. You'll be able to check your IP address here. Please note that you may just need to reset your Sure Signal beforehand.

Hi jez999,

Your gateway IP address is on our whitelist so no problem there.

The Sure Signal needs at least 1Mbps download speed and your speed test shows you’re getting 0.9Mbps, can you run this again to see if there’s any change?

We can certainly look to see if there’s an update for the reference you’ve given.

See how to get in touch with us here.

Thanks

Andrew

Andrew,

Thanks for the PM - I have sent the email as requested.
My upload speed is .9 which is greater than the .3 quoted by VF in their documentation so everything should be fine.
I hope the email I sent as requested progresses this problem and it is soon resolved.

Thanks.....

Hi jez999,

I can see you've had a reply to your email today.

Your previous post said .9 download speed, did this mean to say 0.9 is the upload speed? If so then yes, that would be fine.

Hi TumberN

Your IP is on the whitelist so this isn't the issue here.

Please take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread. If this doesn’t resolve your query, please post your reply either below, or in the relevant thread, together with the details requested, including the following information.

Your speed test results from here.
Your ping test results from here.
The results of a traceroute.

Your Sure Signal serial number:

VSS Traceroute command

On a PC:
Click on Start and select Run
Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
A black box will appear.
In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
Paste the output of this command into your reply.

This will help us get the quickest possible resolution for you.

Thanks

Sukhi

Hi Spork_The_BOAT,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

I’ve checked your IP address and this is fine.

Can you let us know exactly what problems you’re having and what light sequences you’re seeing and we’ll be happy to look into this further.

Thanks,

Jenny

solid power light and the internet light is flashing orange. My problems is it doesnt work my last one didnt work and it has been months now since i have been able to use my phone at home.

I bought the suresignal to ensure my signal was as good as it can be. I have opened my ports given both of the boxes a static IP and even completly turned my firewall off for the sure signal boxes in the past.

The box would work for a couple of days when i first plugged it in then it hasnt worked since.

I understand you have a busy schedule but i know as the weekend is round the corner i am probably going to be going another weekend without being able to use my phone.

Thank you
