Sure Signal 3 - lack of 3G signal

Hi I've recently acquired a new Sure Signal 3 box to replace the old V1 one that stopped working after 5 years. The new one is connected to a BT Homehub 5 and everything appears to be working fine. All the right lights are on, I've forwarded all the recommended Ports and I've tried resetting it umpteen times but I still can't get it a 3G signal from it on my iPhone 6+. Any suggestions as to what else I can try?

Test details / other info as recommended from previous posts are as follows:-

Any advice would be appreciated.

What just plug into someone elses router and see if it works?  I'm confused, why should it work in another location?  When I registerered it, you asked for the post code and floor level of the installation address so presumably the signal you send is somehow location specific or is that info completely irrelevant?

@Rans0n We’d need to check every possible and to make sure it’s not your router/broadband, you’ll to try this in a different location as advised by Eric.

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed response but I didn't get a notification that anyone had responded to my last post.  Anyway, I tried connecting the S/S 3 to one of my neigbours routers (BT Homehub 5).  All the correct lights come on which indicate that it is working correctly but as when connected to my router, no 3g signal is received by my phone.

What now as I've lost the will to live over this?

@Rans0n

So we can check this in more detail, I've sent you a private message with details on how to get in touch.

For anyone else with the same issue, try the steps listed here and if you’re still affected, contact Live Chat.

Im just a vodafone user like you but Ive had a major outage recently (along with the other virgin meia customers) and learnt a couple of things along the way.

Make sure your phone is set to 3G and not 4G. I know you said you have previously.

Maybe try taking your router somewhere else that doesnt have a BT router and connect it? I took mine to work, plugged it in and within an hour it was working fine. It just needed to update i think.

Or try another phone if there is another one on Vodafone in the house? Register it with the sure signal first via the vodafone website of course.

Good luck.
