I have a Sure Signal (v1) and used to use it with a BT Home Hub 2 router without problem. I changed to a wireless ISP and as I understand that VSS is designed for wired connections, I tended not to use it too much as call quality was very poor. I have recently moved back to BT and am using a TP-Link TD-8816 modem (bridge mode) connected to my ASUS RT-n66u router. I am finding that when I connect the VSS (initially it works and I can make calls) after a short peroid of time my connection speed drops dramatically and then the router's connection is lost altogether. It does this even if I don't make any calls. I have tried the usual things like assigning a static IP and setting up port forwarding, hard reset, placing the VSS on a different floor to the router etc. I have even plugged my old HH2 router, but with the same results. As soon as I unplug the VSS my connection is fine again. As my wife run's her business from home and all her literature for clients has her mobile number on this is very frustrating.

Here's the data you requested, although can I reiterate what I said earlier, the SS has no problem in connecting and I can make calls, but eventually it kills my internet. It will do this regardless of whether I make a call or not.
Speed test: Down 2.36Mbs Up 0.36Mbs

It's connected to my router.
I do have slow internet, but I have used the same SS box successfully on a slower connection that this. What I don't understand is that if SS is not being used then why does it slow my connection to a crawl and eventually cause the router to drop connection to the internet. I have covered the following scenarios:
1) Sure signal not connected > download speed between 2 - 2.5 Mbs
2) Sure signal connected
a. initial download speed between 2 - 2.5 Mbs
b. successfully make a phone call when SS lights are all on
c. Initial download speed after call is completed 2 - 2.5 Mbs
d. internet slows dramatically after a short period and eventually drops out
e. unplug sure signal download speed between 2 - 2.5 Mbs again
3) Sure signal connected
a. initial download speed between 2 - 2.5 Mbs
b. do nothing and wait
c. internet slows dramatically after a short period and eventually drops out
d. unplug sure signal download speed between 2 - 2.5 Mbs again

Any update on this as I have added a new router and when I plug in the sure signal cable it kills my internet connection.
Any ideas?

Hi @phil-ward
Welcome to the eForum.
If you're using a Version 1 Sure Signal, please test an alternative power lead and Ethernet connection.
Many thanks,
Ben
