Hi
My SS V1 has suddenly stopped working within the last few days.
Have solid 1st light and does connect to the internet with steady 2nd light and flashing 4th light.
Status will then look to reset/flash through all lights and start again.
Broadband is via BT Infinity and line/router stable for weeks.
Read the forum and looks like a possible issue either with BT or SS V1 firmware???
Ive gone through the motions of resetting it as per the mods but no joy.
All BT kit reset and spare cable and port used.
All TCP/UDP port forwarding correct as per mods.
device placed in DMZ/no firewall

Well I've resolved this eventually after trawling through other forums/posts and trying different things....
After several weeks of resets & watching my SSV1 go through the motion of booting & trying to connect to the internet (bearing in mind that all the time my HH3 router was allowing this through & providing good IP address etc, I was left with my device with just the green light.
I tried de/re-registering etc & also ensuring my BT HH3 firmware was not the issue.
As the device never showed any power issues (good LED status, boot sequence, connectivity train etc), it never crossed my mind to suspect the power supply.
However, the engineer in me decided to try another power supply and to my utter surprise, my sure signal is now fully functional!!!
I've tried original PSU in another socket & exact same symptoms post booting. Device 'looks' like it's trying to connect up but then it simply fails to do so.
I'm more than happy that I have my 3G signal back now having lost it for so many weeks.

Hi Ged
I've taken a look and although your speeds are great, the signal is not reaching our servers as shown in the traceroute.
It may have been something that BT have changed (they don't need to notify of changes like this) so it's worth giving them a quick call.
As it's not connecting with us, I'm unable to see the software version you're running, or able to push through any updates.

Thanks for the reply.
I will have a look around on the BT Infinity forum to see if there are any other subscribers who have similar issues.
Just for clarification, how far further 'should' my traceroute have gone? Is there a comparable trace I can compare against say for someone who has a working service here in Manchester via BT Infinity?
Thanks

Hi ged_ster,
I’m sorry about the confusion in regards to the traceroute.
We’ve recently changed some of our routing which means that the last IP address is different to what it used to show.
Looking at your traceroute, everything looks fine.
If the unit looks like it is constantly restarting, it could be a faulty Sure Signal.
The easiest way to rule this out is to test it on a different internet connection using a different internet provider at a friends or relatives house.

Thanks for the reply.
The SS isn't rebooting as such now.
It looks like it tries to connect and eventually fails.
The device is left now with steady green power light on.
I've trawled through BT forums & indeed there does seem to be possible HH3 issue & VPN connections.
Whether this relates to my issue I don't know yet but I've emailed BT mods and await their advice...

Hi Walczak,
I think you could have a failed power supply judging by your symptoms.
Don't be misled by the first light showing (power light).
You haven't mentioned the 2nd. light .... does that do anything?
Check out the first post on this link and see if these symptoms relate to your problem......
If you think this could be the problem with your Sure Signal, replacement power supplies are readily available on Amazon or Ebay, and cost around £10 or less.
Good luck,
Mike.
