Will my existing sure signal box work with 4G? Or will have to get a new box? Either way will I get an improved 4G download through sure signal?

Hi TheArchitect,
At the moment the Sure Signal only supports 3G services so you won’t be able to use 4G with the current Sure Signal.

what is the point in having a 4g phone when i have to keep changing the settings so i can use it at home ?

That is a good question.
I guess if you had zero signal then it would drop down to 3G and pick that up as it's main carrier
If you have marginal 4G at home, then it will stick to that and be iffy
As for the data question, you will always be better using your broadband connection and wifi for your data, and not relying on the Suresignal to relay the data to and from the mobile network, which will be a lot slower.

Hi tonytango,
Which phone are you using? If 4G isn't available (such as when you're at home using Sure Signal), then most phones will defer down to 3G.
You'll only have to do this manually if you have a weaker 4G coverage in your home as grolschuk mentioned.

Whats the use of upgrading to 4G if you are not also going to upgrade the hardware. SureSignal used to be good now its crap.

The point of a Sure Signal is not to give you a data signal but to provide a good voice signal. If you have a Sure Signal you have broadband. If you have broadband you have or can easily get Wi Fi which is the way to use data when you're at home (or wherever the Sure Signal is located).
4G doesn't support voice calls and therefore the concept of a 4G Sure Signal makes no sense at all, even if it were technologically possible.

.....but voice is bad too!

That's a different matter. The quality of the Sure Signal's voice signal will depend on the speed of your broadband. I've had different SS's in different houses on different broadband types and always found it gives a perfect 3G signal.
