TPLink router and SureSignal work at different post code but not the registered one

I am trying to get a SureSignal version 1 working for a customer at their address following problems with their router. It has previously worked OK occasionally requiring a reset.

The router has been replaced with a TP-Link TD-W8970 and works great with everything at his office, except for the SureSignal.

I have taken the exact same router and sure signal setup (without reconfiguring) to my premises (5 miles away, different post code), where it all works fine. A test call was made to and from a registed phone at my premises. The phone activity light was active during the calls.

My ISP is TalkTalk line speed 12-14 down.

My customers ISP (where it does not work but is registered to) is Farming Online Ltd  (http://www.farming.co.uk) with a speed of between 4.9 and 6 down.

All specified ports that I can find are open. In desperation I have put the SureSignal into the router DMZ.

The sure signal  appears to detect the internet but will not connect to the vodafone system.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

My feeling is that it is an ISP related issue but I need to know what exactly I should ask/tell them to do?

Thanks

Hi Sam

Just wondering how you got on trying to sort your issue out?

I have a very similar issue, I have just installed a TD-W8970 to replace by previous router, really pleased with the network speed I get from it and everthing is perfect, expect the SureSignal!  The suresignal worked perfectly on the previous router, but I just cant get it to work on the TD-W8970 despite tweaking so many settings (I have never forwarded so many ports).  The SS works at a friends house, but to be honest I suspect its a router issue rather than an ISP as my ISP did not change when the router did (which is when the SS stopped working).

If you managed to overcome this issue with your client I woud love to know what you found the problem to be.

Thanks

Hi youngdicko,

From the details you’ve given, it does sound like the router may be the cause of the problem.

Can you confirm that you’ve got all the following ports open/forwarded:-

Port Number

8          TCP      UDP

50         TCP      UDP

53         TCP      UDP

67                     UDP

68                     UDP

123                   UDP

500                   UDP

1723     TCP      UDP

4500                 UDP

33434 - 33445    UDP

Also, the following IP addresses need to be allowed:-

212.183.133.177
212.183.133.178
212.183.133.179
212.183.133.181
212.183.133.182
212.183.131.128/26

If this doesn't help, I'd suggest contacting your router manufacturer for more help.

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers,

Andy
