Trying to load apps

I bought a Smart 4 a couple of months ago.  I want to load a few appps,   after much difficulty I have loaded BBC weather and the trial version of Office Pro.   The free trial period for Office is up tomorrow and despite scores of attempts all I ever get is the message "Error cannot complete your re\quest, try again later"   I have tried switching the power off ,  and re-booting but nothing seems to work  All I want is to pay the £7 odd to get the full version of Office, and perhaps another free app or two . Help please
