Hello,
What make/model of PC do you have?
Some OEM builds include WWAN ad ons that can interfere with Vodafoen Mobile Broadband causing this error message, hence me asking.
It might be worth trying a clean boot as well as providing the informaiton requested above:
1. Click Start Menu, and type msconfig in the search bar.
2. Hit return (or double left click) on returned Msconfig file to launch System Configuration utility.
The System Configuration Utility appears.
3. Ensure the General tab is selected.
4. Click on Selective Startup and make sure that "Load System Services" is the only item checked.
(You will be unable to unselect "Use Original BOOT.INI." This is OK).
5. Click the Services tab.
6. Select Hide all Microsoft Services.
Warning Do not skip this step. You must hide the Microsoft Services before you go on to step 7.
7. Clear all the services that are still displayed on the Services tab by selecting “Disable All”.
8. Click Apply > OK.
9. Click Restart.
If error is cleared then indicates a conflict with another service or application running on the machine. This will require enabling each service/application one by one and retesting to find the service/application at fault. You can cut this process down by first only enabling all services for example and seeing what the fault follows. Once establishing whether it is a startup item or service causing the issue, you can re-enable the relevant batches e.g. five at a time. If the fault returns after the reboot you know the fault is with one of the 5 items you have just re-enabled.
Note: When you have completed your troubleshooting, follow the steps in the next section to configure Windows to perform a Normal startup.
To Reverse Clean Boot:
Restore your computer to its original settings
1. Rerun MSConfig utility as detailed above
2. On the general tab click Normal Startup.
3. Click OK.
4. Click Restart.
I hope that helps, and if it doesn't letting us knwo the make/model of laptop may lead to further advice.

Thank you for your detailed reply.
The make and model of the laptop is: Toshiba Satellite c855 - 1hm.
I tried your steps outlined, but still get the same error 😞 . After reboot, I could not open the Vodafone Mobile Broadband application that is required to connect to the dongle, so I had to add that service back in and restart.
its worth mentioning that I've also tried the dongle on my desktop pc and get the same issue.
Also, not sure if this makes any difference, but it is vodafone.es as we are based in Spain.
Look forward to your next response!

OK, so it's looking unlikely that another application is causing yoru problems.
There are a couple of things that raise a bit of an eyebrow. The first is the mention of you using some Virgin Mobile Broadband software to establish your conenction. This isn't anything to do with Vodafone or your K3772, but if it is trying toaccess or control resources then this might be part of the problem. Also your mention of being a Vodafone Spain customer puts a lot of us in the dark as to how to advise youw ith regard to settings etc. because we're, int he majority, Vodafone Uk experienced and consequently unaware of things liek what your APNs shoudl be, localised network faults, local software configuration and your account as a whole.
That said, it might be worth trying to creat a dial up networking connection as this uses devie manager components that the Vodafone Mobile Broadband software doesn't. The first thing that you'll need to do is contact Vodafoen Spain and ask them what your APN for internet access is, and the username and password for it as well. Make a not of this information, then:
- Open the control panel
- Double click phone and modem
- Click the modem tab
- Highlight the Vodafone Mobile Broadband modem and click properties
- Click settings
- Click the advanced tab
- In the extra modem initilisation commands enter: at+cgdcont=1,"IP","XXX" (where XXX is the APN that you obtained from Vodafone Spain
- Click OK until you're back at the control panel
- Open the network and sharing center
- Click "Set up a new connection or network"
- Click on "Set up a dial up conenction", click Next
- Choose the mobile broadband modem
- In the telephone numebr field enter *99***1#
- In the username and password field enter the username and password specific to the APN information you obtained from Vodafone Spain
- Click connect
- Retest your connection
You'll need to make sure that there's no mobile broadband icon in your system tray (if there is right click it and choose to exit mobile broadband) for the dial up networkign connection to work.
If you still get the same issues reaply the clean boot listed in a rpevious post on this thread and retest the dial up conneciton.
Let us knwo how you get on, I hope that helps.
If this fails,

Hello I am trying to help out some friends that are having the same problem. We also live in Spain
There are 3 dongles on thier flat, all of them are k3772.
And now all of them are reading this same error. I can't figure out how the same thing has happened on each of them. They even use different laptops.
I've tried both of the suggestions on this current thread and I've had no luck. I've tried uninstalling, ive tried to make custom networks within VMB. None of it seems to work, I simply get the same message everytime.
Any idea what the hell is going on? This is the 3rd time I've had to fix these things in the past month two months and I simply can't work out how they all have the same error.

Hi,
The error message that is being generated is usually due to an applciation trying to use one of the dongle components that gets installed in the device manager (network adapter, com port or modem).
The first thing to do is to try the clean boot (2nd post on this thread) as this rules out background applciations due to them not being loaded on start up.
The next thing to try is the dial up networking side of things (7th post on this thread), if this works but the Vodafone software doesn't thne the problem is related to the network adapter in the device manager (The Vodafone software uses this but dial up networking doesn't).
It sounds like you've tried all that, though...
It is odd that all 3 laptops started failing at the same time all in the same way. It may be possible that some kind of applciation update has taken place that might have caused this.
First of all, insert the donle, then check the Windows device manager, and check that you have a Vodafone CD-ROM drive, a Vodafone Modem, 2 x Vodafone Com ports and a Vodafone Network adapter. If you have all these then the modem is installed OK from a Windows perspective. If you don't then find the Vodafone CD-ROM drive, disable it, click view > devices by connection. A section will be expanded with the disabled CD-ROM drive in it. One of the parent components of the CD-ROM drive will be a USB root hub. Uninstall this, then click Actions > Scan for hardware changes and it shoudl reinstall all the drivers for all the components listed above.
The Vodafone software might start working at this point. If it doesn't and is giving "no device detected" errors try adding the modem (Advanced > Devices > Add > USB stick > Next).
Failing that have a look in the application conflict manager (Advanced > click the round red icon in the top left hand corner > options > Applciation conflicts - tick "manage application conflicts" and set it to autoresolve conflicts). Please note the applcaition conflict manager is only part of the full Vodafone software, not the install that comes from the device itself.
If things still aren't working:
Download the Vodafone clean up tool from here
Download the full version of Vodafone Mobile Broadband from here
Uninstall VMB from the system using add/remove programs or programs and features
Run the clean up tool (selecting both Data and Settings when given the option)
Install the version of VMB that you downloaded
If you didn't have the application conflict manager in the first instance you will have it now. It might be worth trying that.
Also the full VMB download gives youa tool called WDKDI (C:\Program Files\Vodafone\Vodafone Mobile Broadband\Driver) if you run this, choose the device remove, select huawei, click remove, wait for it to finish then unplug and reinsert the dongle it shoudl resolve driver issues.
I hope that helps.
