Hi crad9
I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems here.
Have you tried another USB slot on your computer? Do you have access to another computer/laptop that you could test this is not a problem with the handset/data cable?
Let me know how you get on with that and if anybody else has any other suggestions please let us know
Thanks

Hi crad9
I'm sorry to see that you're still having problems with the connection to the laptop.
Can I ask you what it is that you're trying to do?
Are you trying to to use the phone as a modem or are you just doing some data transfer?
If you're using it as a modem, can I check that when you don't have the phone connected to the laptop, it's able to access the internet?
Do you know anybody else with a Vodafone so you can try and see if their phone can be picked up by your computer.
Also what operating system is the pc using - windows, mac, linux?
You can get the latest software for most pc's from the Support Centre.
Please let me know the answers to the questions above so we can get this sorted out for you.
Thanks

Hi crad9
The reason the update will not be working is that you computer is not detecting the phone.
Can you try to navigate using the CD Drive that it shows as? You should be able to navigate the files on your phone by going to My Computer>Cd Drive (Whatever the phone is showing as) you can then navigate through the files until you find PC Assistant.exe
If not could you try the phone in another PC/Laptop to see if there is some sort of conflict with your machine.
Please let us know how you get on and if you have any more questions please let us know and we'll be happy to help
Thanks

It seems to be that the pc sees it not as
a phone but as a cd drive.
