What a nightmare. I realise I have misunderstood part of the terms and conditions.......however.
As I was near end of current contract decided to take advantage of the frequent requests to upgrade from Vodafone. Order went as planned but when I checked the account I had a bill for the 2 phones old and new. Online chat contacted. Yes, I was informed that was correct as I had to complete the original contract; but the best part was that they said I should then have cancelled the old contaract so I wouldn't have 2 phone lines running. I said as it was an upgrade surely Vodafone would complete that process. It took and hour and a half with 2 agents to get this sorted. Seems simple I know but I just had to vent. So much for loyalty over many years

Seems they opened up a 2nd contract instead of upgrading the 1st !
I'm sure we all understand that things can and will go wrong occasionally but it's then what is done to put that right that counts to instill confidence back into the product and service.
I hope this all corrects as it should for you.

I basically lost the will to live after the second 'chat' which lasted over an hour with 3 agents, with the final 7 weeks of the original account to settle...........ho hum
