Usb Modem - Three Bar 3g Signal-no Internet Connection

There has been no conection to the internet from my local transmiter (postcode WR141NA) since last Wednesday although a two/three bar 3G singnal is present as usual. 2G with a five bar signal is unafected and internet conection at resonable speed is posiable. I have no problem conecting to 3G at other locations.

Welcome to the eForum :) Thanks very much for providing your post code. I have to be honest I'm completely stumped as to why you're having a 3G issue here as the site is almost on your doorstep! I've also examined the traffic on that site and everything looks healthy. Is the dongle simply not able to connect via 3G here or are you getting a very slow speed compared to the 2G?

To help you out with this further I'm gonna send across an email. If you reply back I'll have a deeper look into your connection and I'm confident we can come to some answers on this.

Hi Adam and thanks for your quick reply posting and e-mail. I am going away for a few days but will get in touch next week if the problem is still ongoing then. Im taking my dongle and lap-top with me so should be able to cofirm if or not I can conect at other locations. I only bought the usb modem just over a week ago and had no problems for the first three days. About you quiry I can tell you that I am not able to display web pages/ browse the internet at all when conected to 3G ( the Vodafone software displays the conected to 3G symbols and the blue light glows steadily). However, there is quite good internet speed when connected to 2G. Dispite the fact that I am within site of the transmiter and am well with the highest signal strength as shgnalow on the "checker" I am not geting an especialy strong 3G signal. It varies beetween two and four bars depending on which room of the house I am in. The 2G signal is max everywhere. Anyway, thanks again, I"ll be in touch when I return next week to let you know if its OK or if the issue is persisting.
