This thread's been created to discuss and troubleshoot the version 3 Sure Signal when the light sequence is as follows:

  • Power: Flashing
  • Internet: Solid Orange
  • In Service: Off
  • In Use: Off

Cause

This light sequence indicates the Sure Signal's not active and it has been unable to authenticate on the Vodafone network

Troubleshooting

Please restart your Sure Signal. If the symptoms continue please add the following details to this thread:

  • Your speed test results from here
  • Your ping test results from here
  • Your external IP address from here
  • Your Sure Signal serial number
  • The results of a traceroute

Traceroute command:

On a PC:

  1. Click on Start and select Run
  2. Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
  3. A black box will appear
  4. In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
  5. Paste the output of this command into your reply

On a Mac:

  1. Open Terminal (Applications, Utilities)
  2. Type 'traceroute 212.183.133.177'
  3. Press Enter

This will help us get the quickest possible resolution for you.

Thanks

The more that I read all of these threads the more that I come to the conclusion that the Sure Signal is a PIECE OF JUNK,

There are far more complaints from customers than there are answers from Vodafone.

I have been trying to get my Sure Signal 3 working for 2.5 days to no avail despite many calls to Vodafone Support who are not really that helpful.

Nowhere in the advertising was any mention of a minimum upload speed of 1.5 Mbps.

Vodafone should get their act together.

Hi thettiimm,

I can see that your Sure Signal updated this morning, are you still having trouble?

If yes, please can you fully reset your Sure Signal and let me know hoe you get on?

Reset your Sure Signal:

For versions 1 and 2:

-Hold in the reset button until all lights go solid

-Pull the power lead out with the reset button still pushed in

-Continue to hold down the reset button and reconnect the power lead

-Wait for all lights to come on and then release the reset button

For version 3:

-Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports.

-Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds.

-Once the lights come back on, release the button.

The Sure Signal will be back online in around 1 hour.

James

Thanks, seems now to be working and stable :smileyvery-happy:

I am still having problems. I have the same issue as roddim01 as I cannot reset - nothing happens when I hold the button down for a minute. Only when I let go does the orange light go out. Is this then reset?? The unit is also running very hot. Please assist.

Hi adamajis,

We've asked quite a few times now if you could test your Sure Signal on an alternative connection to rule out an ISP or router issue.

We'll be unable to assist further until you do so. If you can't test on another connection, you can arrange for a repair of your current unit instead.

Many thanks, Ben

I have already said before it is obviously not possible for me to test it somewhere else.

Why don't we start by you telling me what has actively done, what has actually been checked on your side and we can take things from there.

Ben, you have not responded adequately to my duplicate post. Have you or have you not checked sac/msc issues?

What else have you checked please? I have my suspicions not very much is being actively done on your end.

Who can I escalate this matter to?
