Vmc 9.3.6 - Windows 7 Readiness?

SurfSilver

Hello, haven't been here since March/April when my local 1.8Mbps base station was out for nearly a month and then was replaced by what seems to be a shiny new 3Mbps unit (at least, I can now often see download speeds in excess of 2Mbps whereas tops download before was 1.4Mpbs).

Anyway.

Does Vodafone yet have an official position with regard to the readiness (or otherwise) of VMC software for Windows 7?

The reason I ask is that I recently ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisory beta (or whatever it's called) on my mobile workstation, and one of the few possibly needed action items highlighted was a recommendation to update the Huawei drivers which this tool found on my system. The mobile workstation is a Lenovo (aka ThinkPad) W700 which was built with Vista on board, which the vendor replaced with XP at my request.

I would be a little nervous about messing with the Huawei drivers indepently of any changes to the VMC software package, but the question then arises as to whether the VMC software itself is qualified for Windows 7.

Checking on the website, I see that VMC9.3.6 supports Vista (all flavours, it would seem, although I've never been there myself) but there's no mention of Windows 7.

Any word on this, Voda chaps and chap-esses?

Thanks in anticipation.
P.S. The question at the moment is still hypothetical, for me at least.

Hey SurfSilver,

Good question! I have every confidence that a new Windows 7 ready VMC will be out around the time Windows launches. We did this for Vista, so imagine we've got a secret team somewhere on the estate cooking up a newer version secretly in the moonlight glow.

No 'street date' as of yet, but as soon as we know more, we'll let everyone know! :P
