Vodafone Connect Router - NAT Loopback issues

Hi,

Just got my Vodafone Broadband service yesterday and really struggling with the Connect router.

Problem in particular, is I have setup portmaps to some of my home automation devices, but cannot connect to these on the local LAN internally.

If I connect from an external IP everything works fine, but not from the internal DHCP addresses.

Seems to be a NAT Loopback / NAT Hairpin issue with the router.

I am on firmware - 5.4.8.1.271.1.59

Question is, is this known, and are you going to fix the loopback issue on the router?

Hi @pshewitt

I understand your frustration.

Please call our technical team on 08080 034 515 and we will fully investigate this for you.

I am having the exact same issue and resigning myself to having to live with it.

I have already contacted the technical team and they were excellent in relation to customer service and were. Wet polite in gaining the information and patient whilst I explained the setup and reasons etc but in the end the solution was for me to speak to the developer of the software applications that I use.

There was a previous post on the 20th August that still appears in google searches but I can't seem to pull up for some reason.

My issue is I have a CCTV system and Alarm system in my home that I have connected to the internet.

Both use mobile apps on my iPhone; I have a remote keypad app and a remote viewer for the cctv.

My current work-around is I have the cctv set up to look at two IP's (one internal and one external) not ideal ... and more of a pain than anything; so I now have two entries for one system that I have to swap between in menus depending when / where I last looked at it.

The Alarm app has an "internal" switch (but being honest I'm not overly bothered about this and haven't tested it in anger.

I had to explain that whilst the service is working... ie there is no fault; I don't think there is a mechanism within the normal technical route to highlight this; and aparantly it was fine before the previous firmware upgrade.

I would really appreciate if someone at Vodafone could look at this for me please and enable NAT Loopback / NAT Hairpinning on the router (or allow us to use our own routers)

The tech team on the phones will not understand what this issue is... as we can surf; send emails etc
