Vodafone Mobile Broadband - I've Got Connection Issues With Vodafone Wifi Base Unit (ZTE MF10)

So i had the thing working fine at work. when i got home i plugged in and turned on, since then the PPP and WPS led's just flash away! My laptop is definately picking up the router because i can see its name (VodafoneInternetMovil_5D20).

I think it is something to do with the wifi base unit because if i plug dongle directly into my laptop it works fine. for some reason the wifi base unit just doesnt seem to pick up the dongle once it is plugged in. none of the lights flash up at all! (red-green-blue-lightblue).

if i type 192.168.0.1 i can get into the wifi units setup page but it just says the message no modem connected? could it be an issue with the actual USB connection? seems very unlikely!

By the way im in spain and couldnt find anysort of help on the vodafone spain website.

of course i went to the vodafone shop where i bought it from and the girls there didnt have a clue .....all they said was please call customer services, which i did and they didnt have a clue either........!!!!!!!!!!

Please help someone!

Thank you

Hi Geshe and welcome to the eForum

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with this. Unfortunately this forum is for Vodafone UK customers with Vodafone UK products. I'm afraid I am unable to support you on a product that we do not sell. The best way to get this resolved would be to ask to speak to the Technical department for your network and I'm sure they'll be able to support you through the set up process for this.

Sorry about that. If anybody else on the forum has any experience with this and is able to help I'm sure they'll be along shortly.

Thanks

Wayne

Hey Geshe

I hope you got this working by now now but if not I bet you haven't entered the sim pin code into the wfi base management page? Those Vodafone.es cards come with pin security enabled and you need to tell the wifi base how to get through that process.

Click on 'Avanzado' on the left and then select the 'Gestion de PIN' tab. Enter the pin and click the remember check box and should be away. Either do this or disable pin security on the card.

Hugh.
