I use a Vodafone data dongle connected to a 3G/4G router to perform remote deom's on customer sites. This set up has worked fine for nearly 2 years on a mixture of 3G and 4G Vodafone networks. Recently this has stopped working. When I replace the Vodafone dongle with a 3 dongle everything works ok as it did with Vodafone until a few months ago. Has Vodafone started to block ports on mobile broadband.
The ports I need open are
443 (TCP and UDP)
5247
5246
80
It would be a pity if I have to move to 3 for this remote functionality to work

Hi, did you have any success in resolving this.
I now have the same issue. I sell a mobile solution and have a web service setup on my laptop to send and receive information to the mobile application. On my home and work network it workes perfectly and last year it was working via the vodafone dongle.
In front of a roomful of people to demonstrate yesterday and could not connect. I use NOIP.org as I never know what network I will be on (sometimes the clients guest network when there is poor 4G coverage). They have a port tester and every port I tried was blocked.
I have googled other forums and the only solution seems to be to switch to O2, something I can't do (without a lot of hassle) as the business uses Vodafone.

Hi All,
Usually this is because the Access Point Name (APN) settings on your device (which dictate what your device will try and connect to) are different from those on your SIM (which dictate what your device and SIM are allowed to connect to).
APN settings are related to your data account type and bundle details as follows:
If you’re having connection problems, please check and amend your device’s APN settings. Go to ‘Your device’ to find out how to do this.
If you've checked your APN and everything's correct, make sure you've got good coverage. If your settings are correct and you have a good 4G or 3G signal but still have this issue, please contact us

I have tried all of the above and a bit more (e.g. DMZ settings, NAT settings - I did not know you could get at these settings, thanks for that!!!) nothing helped and have reverted back. None of the ports I tested appear to be open so remote desktop etc will not work. Very frustrating.
