I'm using Vodafone Smart Dayview on a vodafone 985N and it's working .... except the location.
The prompt is 'Tap to enter a location'.
When you do that then you are prompted to either type a location or press the [current location] button. Both attempt a search and return with 'No search results, location not found, try another location' - every location returns the same.
GPS is on and google Maps and Waze work fine.
Is this more to do with the configuration in some way of Smart Dayview?

Hello @squashed
Are you referring to the Smart DayView app?
If so, please try rebooting your device, clear your cache and cookies. Does this help?
You may also need to ensure location services are turned on for this device.

Hi Thanks for the reply.
Neither worked. I cleared the cache and app data - rebooted - no difference.
GPS is working fine for other apps.
It's odd because I get the same error regardless if I press [current location] (which I assume uses GPS) or enter a town name (which I assume uses Internet search).

This does sound odd, @squashed.
I've researched this, and I'm struggling to find any information about it.
Have you checked that the location settings are enabled on all apps, on your device?
I'm thinking this could be related to the OS version you're using, but this is a complete guess - are you on the latest update?
Thanks,
Sarah

I'm not familiar with this, but there was an issue with the location finder on the My Vodafone app, and I'm wondering whether it's the same thing.

Hi again,
Location Services do appear to be working and SmartDay View is listed as using location Services in Services...Location..Recent Location Requests.
So, it would appear that the Location request is certainly being made. I would probably add that the location service is responding (because it's working elsewhere) - but given that the search fails for both the [Current Location] button and the name search then it must be the lookup that's got a problem.
I'm on V4.4 of Andriod.
No idea of which version of Smart DayView

I don't think it's a problem with location services - mine work perfectly well with everything else. I suspect it's something to do with the way this particular app communicated with the system. It's possible that something changed after Android 4.4 and that the app was updated to take account of that, meaning it now doesn't work on the older version, I suppose.
If you don't have My Vodafone, could you install it and see if the store finder picks up your location? You could also drop into a Vodafone shop and see if the Dayview app works on one of the demo phones - which should have Android 5 or 6.
