Whilst on a call my phone changes screens or puts calls on hold/speaker etc, proximity sensor problem?? I can't find any settings that would change this.

Hi
Do you have a case and or screen shield fitted as these can affect this sensor sometimes.
If not try backing up and perform a factory reset which may help.
If not then if you acquired the phone directly from Vodafone then you could ask them to send it off under the manufacturing warranty as long as it's not been dropped or has water damage. They apply a 24 month warranty.
If you acquired it via a 3rd party you'd need to approach them as a Vodafone store would charge you to send it away.
Also check you haven't activated Call Waiting

Thanks, i was wondering if it was the screen protector so will take it off and give it a try, (vodafone fitted it so I will be annoyed if it is that as it wasn't a cheap one !)

You're welcome.
Ideally a screen protector should have a cut out so it does not cover the sensor.
