Hello.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 which also comes with the Vodafone Updates built in.
However, almost 2-3 times every day when using a certain app, I get an error message that says 'Unfortunately Vodafone Updates has stopped'.
Do you know if there is a fix for this as the last thing I want to do is uninstall the Updates app.
Many thanks,
Christopher

I have been looking at these apps that Vodafone have come up with
The My Vodafone is the only one worth having on and does not need the Updates app to use
In fact it will work on most android devices as long as it has a VF simm in
Discover
My Web
Updates (Out of the three, I don't have the Vodafone Travel installed)
My Vodafone
Vodafone (This is the picture of a Sim Card where you can access Sport, Travel etc.)
Ok here is the First
Discover well first problem is it says its been completley reworked to get all the benafits from Ice cream sandwich
errrrm were all on jelly bean ummmm
Help Login Needs avoiding as it runs in the back ground battery drain
My Web
Just web links to Vodafone stuff
Updates
This is used to update the Vodafone apps
The Help Login
This is were Vodafone are supposed to be able to control your phone
My Vodafone
This has had a revamp and in theory shows your balance on your data ( can be 72 hours out of date)
and shows were the wifi hotspots are
App selet
this is just anot app store clone and not the cheapest
Now alot of these use Data but there not supposed to impact on your data allowance
except the My webb app this will use data
Now i have found that there are alot better apps by Vodafone on the Play store
Here is a List
My vodafone
Vodafone VIP
Vodafone Cloud
Vodafone Protect (Subscription service should be FREE tho)
Vodafone Opera (same as Opera but has the same links as My Web)
Vodafone Guardian (Not avalable in the UK but works in Irland and Greese a family security keeps your kids safe .. This needs to ba avalable in the UK )
All the above are well worth a look at and are kept updated Via the play store

Hi
My phone temporarily freezes followed by the message 'Unfortunately Vodafone Updates has stopped working'. I click the 'ok' button, the only option, and the message goes away and the phone un-freezes. This happens a few times a day and quite randomly regardless of what is being used on the phone.
Would anyone have any ideas about this please? I don't know if it's Vodafone needing to update the phone or not. I've only had the phone two weeks and just got it set how I like it so would hate to have to reset the phone.
Thank you
Lorraine

This issue seems to be cropping up in various guises at the moment and I wonder whether there's a server issue.
In the meantime, you could try going into Settings|Applications and clearing the cache of this app. That's been suggested before and I'm not sure whether it worked or not, but it's quick and easy, so you might as well try it...

I called Vodafone, they told me to call Samsung. Samsung told me it was a Vodafone fault and to call them. I tweeted Vodafone and have been advised that the only thing that will resolve this issue is a factory reset!
Hmm. There's another thread on this and one of the posters says this had no effect. I still think it's a server issue and I'm wondering whether it's worth force stopping the app until it's sorted. These posts may not be the tip of an iceberg, but there are at least 3 people here with the problem and it's not a perennial one. That's too much of a coincidence.

Hi LorriBee,
If this message has only started appearing recently, have there been any app updates around the time this message started showing up?
I would recommend a factory reset to see if this solves it for you. Remember to back up your important information first.
If this doesn’t work for you then I’d suggest you give hrym’s suggestion a go.
Let me know how you go on.
Thanks

Right to stop all the confussion this message is not the Update to Firmware
On Vodafone branded phones there is a app called updates
This is a Vodafone app ( I have dissabled this as its a pain )
the app runs in the back ground and well it does not alot other then update there own apps
( This is also don Via the playstore)
Dissableing this for now will not harm your phone
at the same time dissable the 24hr care one and any others
This helps your battery and Data
