I have posted this into off topic as I can not see any reference to Vodafone Home phone and Broadband.
I have install the router and all is working but there one thing that is missing from the setting of the VDSL router that being a function to turn off DHCP, I have for the pasted 10 year had my own network running at home with a fully working server that is my DHCP & DNS server but for the first time in history I have just sign up for 18 month and got a bloody router that has no function in the GUI settings pages to turn OFF the DHCP server. So for now I will have to wait for 18 months before I can change ISP. thanks vodafone tech team for missing this one. If there is anyone out there that can offer me a firmware update to give me the function to turn OFF DHCP then please post it.

Good to hear!
I had mine running in that arrangement to begin with. Keep an eye out for daily DSL disconnections. I was getting 4 or 5 per day until Openreach's DLM decided the line was unstable and capped me to 34Mbit. The Openreach-provided HG612 modem I'm using now (and used for 4 years when I was with BT) would stay connected indefinitely.
I really wasn't expecting to have a compatiblity issue between the DSLAM and the router. Apparently all provider's modems are qualified by Openreach, and both the router and the DSLAM it connects to are made by Huawei. Still, that's what happened!

@displaced When you say daily disconnects how are you identifying that - just from the scant logs available in the GUI or from the uptime - is there another way I can look at the historical status of the connection that I am not seeing on the router.
Just now the log is totally clean so 24 hours in it is looking sound but I will monitor this.
thanks for the heads up.

When the VF router loses its DSL connection, it'll serve up a 'Reconnecting...' web page to every web request you make.
My disconnections happened often enough that I'd have just my normal evening web browsing interrupted by the 'Reconnecting' page. And because the VF router was so very slow at resync'ing and performing its PPPoE login, these disconnections would last nearly 10 minutes.
I have a home server set up, running the Cacti monitoring software. I set up a Cacti graph to monitor the reachability of a known-good IP address (in my case, Google's public DNS at 8.8.8.8). So, it'd ping that IP once per minute and graph its success/failure. This showed the problem rather well.
I don't think there's anything the VF router itself can do to help you track disconnections beyond the logs you've already seen.

I don't know what the hell is going on here but I've now got a Lenovo A5500-F under my network. No IP, nothing in the router page.

Have you tried disabling the Guest Mode wireless Wi-Fi2? I did when I first setup the Connect, however since the latest firmware update I can't find the option to switch the Guest Mode Wi-Fi on or off. But it must be somewhere surely?
Anyway mine is off and I don't have any unknown phantom devices.

The guest network is disabled. I've just turned off WPS and I've not seen any strange devices yet.

Was all set to change from BT to VF today, use my own router and thought I would just see the situation is with VF and found this thread!
Won't be bothering now, no question its a good deal price wise, but I'm not going to entertain a service where I can't use my own equipment.
Even Pre Sales talked in riddles when I asked them if I could use my own router.
BT might cost more but its never gone wrong in the 5 years I've had it and I can use my own equipment.
Real shame if anyone who makes decissions in VF reads threads here.

@asfish. For 38Mbps FTTC, Origin BB works out slightly cheaper than Vodafone over 18 months, if you take the Supersaver 18 pay up front option.
Their technical support say that it is possible to use your own equipment and they would provide the logon details. I am thinking of becoming a customer when my existing contract expires.

@Jadykaijai. The name is just before 'BB' which is short for Broadband. Google will find it for you, but not the 1st hit.
