I fell on my 4g and its screen went black, I can still hear it though

Am I to assume you've possibly damaged your phone accidentally?

If so try turning it Off and On to see if a soft reboot helps. 

Accidental damage is not covered by the manufacturing warranty.

Vodafone could send the phone off to their repair centre and would advise if there is a charge after looking at it before they attempt to repair it.
