Vodafone pay monthly dongle will no longer open to connect

caroS

Hi,

I have been using my vodafone pay monthly dongle with my mac for the last 6 months without problems, and was using it on saturday morning when the first issue occured.....

The dongle will no longer load/ open on my computer- once plugged it it attemps to open and the vodafone icon flashes up, only to close down straight away.

I have uninstalled and re-installed several times, but am no longer able to open the vodafone icon and so cannot connect at all.

I wonder if you could advise me how to proceed?

Thanks so much!

Hi caroS and welcome to the eForum

Thanks for your post here. I appreciate how frustrating this all must be for you.

First of all, can you tell me what version of the Vodafone Mobile Broadband software are you currently using?

If you’re not using the latest version, can you try and update using the link below :

Vodafone Mobile Broadband

If this doesn’t work, have you installed any other program recently that may be causing some sort of conflict?

Please give this a go and let me know how you get on.

Thanks

I have exactly the same problem on two laptops. One runs vista and the other xp. Why is there no internet reference to this problem, which must be fairly common?

I have updated to the latest version software, uninstalled and reinstalled etc etc with no result.

The software is clearly looking for something when it starts, and is not finding it. Could someone please give me the technical details of how to trace this problem. I have installed KES recently

Hi inspiron42,

Welcome to the Vodafone eForum from all of the team.

Unfortunately I don't have any support teams in at this time of night so I will need to pass your query onto our day team who will be able to give you a more detailed answer than I can.

Hey inspiron42,

Many thanks for your patience while James passed this on to us.

The link Wayne refers to in his post is to the Vodafone Mobile Broadband (VMB) version 10.1. There's a later version available that should fix this issue. You can get the file from the thread below.

Can you give this a try for me and let me know how you get on?

Cheers,
