Hi,

Is there a phone number or email address to contact repair centre directly? Phone went in for warranty repair 4 weeks ago and no contact since.  Online tracker is useless,  currently shows repair was completed on 25th July and has said the same for over 2 weeks.  Any help appreciated as local store and 191 cannot give answers.

Thanks

Hello @halesj1

No there isn't a direct telephone number or email address.

Live Chat , Customer service on 191 and the Repair Tracking form are the ways to find out more.

Hi @halesj1

If the repair was completed by the Repair Centre on the 25th July, the phone should have been returned to the store later that week and you should have been contacted by the store to let you know the phone was ready for collection.

You are going to need to call into the store, they will have a  record or all returned phones from the Repair Centre.  Alternatively, please use Live Chat or call Vodafone, they may be able to contact the store on your behalf.

Thanks, but went back to store on Thurs 11th Aug and they did not have the phone and promised to contact repair centre and update me on Friday 12th Aug but nothing.  Live chat and 191 have been unable to help

Sometimes it can depend on the knowledge of the agent you speak to.

I know its easy for me to say but perservere with ringing 191.

May i ask what they are telling you.

I've been told to use the online tracker despite me telling them what it says.

I've been told to contact the store, which is difficult with no contact numbers on the website.  It took 2 attempts for someone to give me the store number.

The store number constantly goes to voicemail, and having left a message there was no reply.

When I could get to the store, they checked the online tracker, took a copy of repair paperwork and promised to call me the following day......but again nothing.

191 in variably transfers me from one department to another and have only once got to the repair centre where they just confirmed what the online tracker says......repair completed on 25th July!

Hi @halesj1

This does sound frustrating, and I apologise for any inconvenience caused by the experience you're having.

Please let me know which store you've been in contact with, so I can get this investigated internally.

I'm going to send you a private message with details on how our team can get this looked into for you.

Thanks,

Sarah

Hi,

I did search for an appropriate discussion thread and this seemed the best fit.

My handset, a Samsung Galaxy S7, failed at re-boot (message: "UI app stopped") during the install of the latest OS (Nougat) update. I took the handset to a local Vodafone retail store who did a factory reset, afterwhich the same error message was displayed, preveting access to the phone. They suggested, and I accepted, that the phone should be sent for repair.

The handset is currently at the repair centre. I sopke with one of the repair centre staff who stated that the problem was due to an illegal software download and installation which surprised me as the only apps that added were from the approved App Store were: LinkedIn, Skype, WhatsApp and a Bible App. That's it. I asked for the identity of the rogue software and was told that they are not able to say, but stated that it would cost £200 to repair, as the illegal software presence took the repair out of the shelter of the warranty. I have had numerous conversations with customer services and those on an escalation path affiliated with the repair centre, but nobody is able to tell me what this illegal software is. In order to quicken the process, I have ageed to the cost, to progress the repair, and then pursue a possible financial soluton, separately. But, in order to do this, knowig what this rogue software is, would be a great start. Cany anyone help?

Sorry for the lengthy message

ThIs could be referring to any app or software that you've had to turn off your unknown services for.

There's certain apps or pages that will notify you to turn off the unknown sources, once this has been done it'll tell you that your phone can be vunerable to viruses and cause issues.
