Try holding the power button down for about 30 secs, or untill you feel it buzz.  That should start it...

An update of Facebook is causing problems with this phone, you might need to uninstall it (then see if it fixes the lockup) then install "Mini for facebook" from google play store untill facebook app sorts itself out.

If all else fails you could try a Hard Reset which will take the phone back to the last firmware update.

This woukd however delete saved data.

Hi @Revii

Sorry for the delayed reply.

Are you still having issues with your phone, or have either of the suggestions from @sychnant or @BandOfBrothers helped?

My suggestion worked for me an several other people. The latest Facebook version is causing problems with this phone. Installing an alternative Facebook app sorts the problem.

I have a problem where the call keeps getting put on hold because my ear touches the screen, its so annoying.  Is there any way to stop this happening?

I have had similar problems where the phone has "done its own thing" whilst in a call and holding the phone to my face. It usually happens on sunny days and is caused by the screen light sensor staying active and allowing the screen to remain "live" . Unfortunately there is no known cure.
