WAITING HOW LONG?

I have had no end of problems with Vodafone's broadband service. Originally ordered on 24th july, go live date ended up being a fail as the order to keep existing landline number failed (bye bye phone number), two days later before anyone placed another order. Twelve days without fixed line broadband.

 

Once the service went live, there was no increase in speed & seemingly DLM training the line only took 48 hours? Same speed as with Sky who stated no fault on line causing the reduced speed from the 66 we used to get. And then last week, the connection dropped out a couple of times, then the router wouldn't sync, so had to swap to the second hub that had arrived with the 2nd order. Now getting 40Mbps down and 19 up, paying for the 76 Mbps service, with a guaranteed of 44.94Mbps down. 

 

Tried to call today to see if engineer had remotely investigated fault, and get greeted with wait times of 1 hour 12 minutes up to 2 hours 17 to get a callback/get through to someone. Is the service going into meltdown again after taking on too many customers or something?

It's more probably because it's a weekend @Spitfire400 to which inbound calls will drastically increase. 

I personally try to make calls on a Weekday as early in the morning as possible when the lines open. 

Are you trying "08080 034 511 for broadband (free from all UK landlines and mobiles) with lines open between 8am and 8pm, seven days a week." ?

It certainly seems you've not had the best experience with your Vodafone Broadband.  :Sad_face:

I can't really compare my Broadband with yours as I use BT. 

May I ask if your connecting via Ethernet cable or Wifi and what Troubleshooting tips you've tried such as changing Wireless Channel or splitting the routers frequencies to 2.4ghz and 5ghz.

Hi, when I called on Thursday morning, we switched off Wi-Fi on the hub, then plugged in 1 device using Ethernet.

 

Ran various speedtests, then removed single faceplate & connected to test socket. Ran the speedtests again. The sync speed on the router is still 41.0 Mbps. It has not changed, which leads me to believe if openreach have attended they have not found a fault. Still connected to test socket. What difference would splitting the SSIDs make? Tiny, not sure if I have, will sign into router & check now thanks.
