Hi
If you haven't accidentally blocked each other within the phones text blocking facility (handset dependant) their shouldn't be a reason why you can't text.
Its worth you both speaking to both sets of Customer services just to ensure nothing is evident on your accounts.

Lebara have a habit of issuing numbers that look like UK mobile numbers but are actually from the Isle of Man and that's outside of the UK.
Check out the dialling code and see where that number originated. If it's an overseas number (The Isle of Man is overseas for these purposes) that might be the problem,

Have a look at your online account (My Vodafone in the red banner above). If you're on the new billing system, you can look at the various bars for yourself - when the main screen comes up, click the Manage button by your number, then Manage Services in the menu on the left and, finally, Bars.
There's an all-encompassing SMS bar but, if you can text other people, it's not that. There are various overseas options, though and, if the number does indeed come up as IOM, one of them may be catching it.

I can only think it was ported to Lebara (assuming you can do that).
