Anybody else having problems with Wifi Calling on new iPhone 6s?
Feeling a bit miffed that after shelling out on Vodafone for a state of the art iPhone phone with 4G it seems that Vodafone is not supporting this on a £44 per month tarrif with data!!!!
It is a basic feature of the phone and I have already forked out for Sure Signal so Vodafone should make wi-fi calling available to all iPhone 6 Monthly payment 4G customers regardless of tarrif.

Hi Folks!
I have finally got this working!
I have spent over 4 hours on the phone to Vodafone customer services, I have reset my phone numerous times, I have changed every setting possible and performed all these things at least 2 or 3 times:
- Change the DNS address
- Turn facetime off then on
- Turn iMessage off then on
- Check my number was displayed
- Get a brand new phone
- Change the sim card
- Change the carrier settings
- Reset network settings
- Use different WiFi router
- Reset WiFi router
and plenty more.....
It took Vodafone just under 8 weeks to solve the problem, I did not get an explanation but have been promised compensation from many Vodafone customer service employees, one person even said I would be compensated for "every second" I did not have the service and for my time and efforts with trying to get this issue resolved. The Vodafone employee at my local shop said I should make a claim and I deserve to be compensated.
I was advised by Vodafone to phone Vodafone customer services once the issue had been fixed, the compensation would then be paid, I did this, Vodafone now say I will not be getting anything.
I contacted the Ombudsmen as stated in the Vodafone code of practice:
http://www.vodafone.co.uk/cs/groups/public/documents/webcontent/vftst055204.pdf
I was advised by the Ombudsmen that I needed the names of at least 2 different people I spoke with, including dates and times etc. Vodafone refused to give me this on the Live Chat. I wrote them a letter asking for this information. Vodafone then wrote a letter back saying I would need to pay them £10 for the information I require and it could take up to 40 days after my cheque clears to get this information. I advised the Ombudsmen of this and have been told not to apply for the information and the Ombudsmen will take the case forward.
I now have the WiFi calling enabled but should I have done all that chasing to get it working? NO, I don't think so anyway. I spent over 4 hours on the phone, had to make 3 separate trips to my local Vodafone shop and did not have the service for 8 weeks. I also had inconvenience of having to reset my phone and router more than once. This should have worked straight out of the box.

@jimmymedic you are lucky that it is finally working. After 10 and a half weeks and endless resets, etc. still no sign of it working. I too have been promised compensation, when it is working. So I guess I will have left Vodafone before that happens... I'll be glad to hear of you ever do get compensation.

Had Wifi calling from day 1, must have got lucky one phone call was all it took. Anyway from then I've used it once unfortunately Vodafone Wifi doesn't work with the Apple Watch or I'd probably have used it a bit more. I feel it's very gimmicky and not needed anyway, though it is good to have just incase.

I too have had a nightmare activating Wi-Fi Calling. I have two contracts with Vodafone. The first worked fine. Swapped SIM into iPhone 6s to use my second contract with this handset. Upgraded to a compatible tariff and Wi-Fi Calling was not working. Called 191 and had it activated.
Several calls and live chats later, still not working. I have iPhone 6s, compatible tariff, latest carrier and iOS settings and everything is as it should be but it simply won't activate. 191 advised me to take phone to shop for testing - declined as I know phone is fine.
Have since upgraded to a Vodafone branded iPhone 6s and still the feature will not work... I am at a loss

There is no such thing as a Vodafone branded iPhone. All iPhones worldwide are unbranded and untouched by networks and that is one of the main advantages they have over most Android handsets.

@woodstock17 I have now been offered compensation from Vodafone as a result of me contacting the Ombudsmen.
I have received a private message asking how I got the wifi calling feature fixed, I can't seem to reply to this message so my reply is here for all to see.
Vodafone deactivated and then activated again from their end, this had been tried many times before without success, on the last occasion it worked. This was about 8 weeks and (4 hours of phone calls) after I made the initial complaint.
Just keep calling them and as frustrating as it is, after 8 weeks, if it is not fixed then go to the Ombudsmen, you will get results then 😄
I went to the Ombudsmen as everyone I spoke to at Vodafone promised me compensation for my time, effort and lack of service. When it came to contacting Vodafone after the service was working, Vodafone declined to compensate me, so I took it further.

Just an update from my initial complaint and offer from Vodafone...
Vodafone failed to keep to their end of the proposal that was agreed through the Ombudsmen, so I contacted Vodafone directly and after a conversation on the live chat they offered to put some money on my account. I asked when was the money likely to be on my account and they said 24-48 hours. Guess what....? The money never arrived. I contacted Vodafone after 48 hours, they then said I would not get any money - both conversations on the live chat through Vodafone and both transcripts saved.
I went back and sought the advice of the Ombudsmen, the Ombudsmen have submitted it as a failed proposal. The Ombudsmen also told me that Vodafone denied I had contacted them so many times, well Vodafone just look at my bill - it was a crazy amount of times and clocked over 4 hours of phone calls, all there in black and white.
Vodafone have now been asked to pay me some money and further compensation. If they don't pay within a time period then Ombudsmen will take it further.
My advice for people with similar issues, contact Vodafone a good few times, take note of times, dates and names. After 8 weeks, if your problem is not fixed then contact the Ombudsmen, these people are superb 🙂
It is unfortunate my contract does not end for a while, I would have no hesitation on leaving Vodafone.
