Solution

audio problems while using Sure Signal Box

While making calls I can hear the person I am calling, but people have told me it is an awful line with crackling, other times they hear an echo, or I sound as if I am under water. If I go to GSM only on my phone, the problems of audio are resolved, but then my signal is very poor without the SSbox.

I have moved the SS box as far away as the lead will allow. Can you help please?

Hi,

Please take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread. If this doesn’t resolve your query, please post your reply either below, or in the relevant thread, together with the details requested, including the following information.

Your speed test results from here.
Your ping test results from here.
Your external IP address from here.
The results of a traceroute.

Your Sure Signal serial number:

VSS Traceroute command

On a PC:
Click on Start and select Run
Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
A black box will appear.
In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
Paste the output of this command into your reply.

This will help us get the quickest possible resolution for you.

Thanks

LeeH

Sorry, but how do I copy and paste The results of a traceroute? Had to add them as an attachment

Thank you

Sorry, forgot Serial No of SS Box  21229072232

Hi chrismah,

Many thanks for getting back to us with the additional details.

Looking at your traceroute results, the speed test results and your ping test results, every looks fine and is above the threshold required for a working Sure Signal.

Looking at the registration I can see that everything is updating as it should be and you connected to the server last night at 17:33.

Can you go into your router admin panel and check the MTU settings and change this to 1500 if possible as this can sometimes cause a few audio issues.

James

Hi James

The stting was already on 1500. Could it be too many electrical appliances very close to the sure signal box? Could I use a longer Ethernet cable from the box to the router? Would that maybe work?
