Hello

A colleage at work has dropped her iphone and apparently it got really hot so hot she couldn't touch it.

Now it wont turn on.

She is under contract will she have any kind of accidental cover ?

Would Apple or Vodafone have to fix it?

Cheers

Paul

Unless she has taken out insurance, which is not included as standard on a contract, she won't be covered for accidental damage. She might be covered by home insurance or even her bank so that's worth checking.

You can use the Vodafone repair service or take it to an Apple store. If the phone is more than a year old, Vodafone will need to repair it.

Has she tried the reset option of holding the home button and power button in together to see if the Apple appears.

If the iPhone is out of warranty Apple also have a replacement programme. There is a cost however.

Just pop in and they'll advise accordingly.

A lot will depend on which came first - the drop or the overheating.   It she dropped it because it was hot, then it looks like a fault and should be covered by the warranty.   However, if the drop caused visible damage, Vodafone won't do a warranty repair (none of the manufacturers allow them to in the case of damage), so she'd be best off going to Apple.   I'd be inclined to take it to them anyway and see what they say.
