Hi all,
On wednesday I bought a new phone which needed a nano SIM, as opposed to my micro. As I'm PAYG and cannot do the number swap online (also didnt have any nano SIM cards to ahnd) I went to a local Vodafone store on Thursday around 10AM.
I explained I wanted to keep my number and the lady was very friendly and polite, she asked what my existing number was, asked my name, got a new nano SIM out and scanned something on the box then put it into my new phone. She advised me it would take an hour and that I should turn my phone off for this.
After the hour I turned it back on, it wasnt working but no biggie. Around 5pm I think it became active, but on a completely different number I still have both phones and if I go onto the My Vodafone app they both come under differrent numbers, both have different balances and both have differing amounts of rewards points the new phone having the lesser obviously. (Although it does mysteroiusly have a balance of £16.17) god knows where it came from.
Tl;dr - new sim card, supposed to be my old number...isnt. Both phones texting/calling fine. But want my old number on my new phone
Would like to know if anyone at all has any clue what happened here?
Thank you my dudes
P.S before you ask livechat is no help. They keep telling me I need to get a blank SIM despite me repeatedly telling them that I DID.

Hi,
To begin a sim swap can be done online for Payg now.
I think the employee has had supplied a SIM card with its own number already attached to it.
You needed a blank SIM card which has no number attached and then a sim swap initiated to move your number and tariff over to the blank SIM card.
I would suggest to go back to the store and explain the above and they'll need to sort it out.
