micro sim not activating with my old number

i have a problem with my galaxy s3, went into store yesterday to get new micro sim activated with my old number but still hasn't been swapped over, its been almost 24 hours when i was told it would take between 20 minutes and 2 hours,

please help..

I would suggest going into a vodafone store to do this again just in case. There is one thing I would personally try before that if you have this option - If you are able to use your old phone with the old sim card dial 191 and follow the options there to speak to someone to get it sorted.

 

Other people might advise you to call an 0870 from a landline. I found I was waiting listening to music and getting nowhere doing that which is why I advise going to the most convenient vodafone store if you cannot do the other suggestion.

24 hrs and guess what the sim card is still not activated  appears vodafone fault dept lie to there own shop managers.

The reference number Sarah referred to would be in the automated acknowledgement you got when you replied to the PM.  If you didn't get one, the message didn't send.   When this happened to me, it was because I'd missed the send button on the page you land on after completing the form.

 

This is a very odd one, which I think is why it's stumping a lot of people.   I'm sure the person the shop manager spoke to would have gone through all the processes and probably thought they'd fixed it.

I would like to believe  what you said was true Hrym but this is now 15 days this problem has been going on and  i have lost count  how many vodafone staff  have been involved in this problem, and all have said  thats it   will be activated within 24 hrs sadley  that hasnt happened yet 15 days and still going on , i have phone the vodafone shop  that has been dealing with  this and there answer phone has picked it up and i have left  a contact number for the manager to contact me. i will update when i can.

 

as you know i cut down my original sim card so as i could use my phone or else i would have been unable to  use it, so i am lucky that way but if the sim card i am using was damaged or lost i would be unable to use my phone and i have had this mobile number  for well over 5 yrs and i dont want to have to change it as there are many people i would lose contact with if i had to get a new mobile number as i have no other means of contact.

Ben will you  look into this , only yesterday i spent 1 hour in the vodafone shop witht the manager who was on the phone  trying to sort this problem out ,HE  was told it would  be sorted within 24 hrs and the sim card would be activated  well its way passed 24 hrs and its still not activated. i have phoned

the shop manager and left a msg asking him to contact me as of yet no reply appears i am getting the run around i have personaly spoken or emailed aprox 8  members of vodafone staff all saying it will be fixed , sadley there words count for nothing .

The manager  of the vodafone shop  replied to my phone call i informed him that  the sim card is still not been activated  he took my number and told me he would phone back that was at 12:45 and i am still waiting on him calling back. The manager just phoned me back and informed me tecnical dept is looking into it  , and the shop manager will phone back as soon as he hears and information over the next few days .

at last at aprox 22:00 hrs last night 11/08/2014 the new sim card activated  finaly no notice  of any kind as i had friends  over and never noticed.Only took 20 days .
