mobile payg broadband - will not fully install or download bytes

hello all,

had look through but couldnt see specific help for me, i have printed out some things i will try tonight, but in the mean time typing this up as knowing my luck it wont work!

bought a vodafone dongle stick last night, put it in and it seemed to be installing fine.

however, it told me i did not have the up to date version needed and i had to choose either vodafone lite, or update current software (recommended) so i selected the latter. (not sure if this is significant)

it connected fine but then made my computer crash, this happened about 3-4 times.

i uninstalled and tried again, again had to choose one of the software options and it connected.
however, i am not fully connected, i cannot open any websites.

i am uploading bytes but not downloading any, so cannot even open up my vodafone account online or send the SMS's, i can how ever receive them.

i noticed that the 'instalation wizard' does not go all the way through, it gets to the 'removing back up files' stage, then just opens up the main window you connect from with all the options down the left hand side.

im sorry if this is vague, as i am typing this at work at the moment! but i will write it all down tonight and put up tomorrow if this is not enough info.

i have tried disabling and enabling all other wireless cards i have incase they were taking up a port, and have tried swtiching off all fire walls etc, none of this helps.

it seems like the installation is not completing itself, but i really have no idea what the problem is.

please help if you can!

ps - i meet all of the requirments to use it, and had an O2 dongle at my last house, this worked fine. if i cannot get this to work in a few days im going back to the shop to demand a refund and will get o2 again. i also do not have an official copy of windows, this might be the problem i suspect. once i had to get my comp rebooted and didnt have the discs etc anymore so someone else sorted this out for me.

Hi waterkelpy and welcome to the eForum

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with this. I can totally appreciate how frustrating this must be when you get a new product you just want it too work! :)

I would suggest uninstalling all instances of the Mobile Broadband Software. Then pop over to our website and download the most up to date version of the Vodafone Mobile Connect program. ( You may need to use an alternative internet connection to do this, then transfer over to your PC via USB stick) This can be found here - Vodafone Mobile Connect Software

Please give this a go and let me know how you get on. any further information you can give us would also be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

Wayne
