When i plug it into the office network (ethernet points in skirting trunking)at first the power light is solid and the next light is white and flashing then this stops and the power light then flashes plus the last two lights are solid. please help. Im away from the office until tonight. Just one more thing when i plug my laptop into the ethernet port it connects straight away.

Hello Trvrv
A Sure Signal device is designed to provide 3G Vodafone signal when connected to a broadband router. You would be unable to get the device to work through your office network when connected to an internet point.
Please see the FAQ's on the following link.

Laptop connecting to web pages uses TCP port 80 and 443... very standard to have open and allow the traffic through.
The suresignal uses a combination of
TCP + UDP on ports 8, 50, 123, 500, 4500 and 1723
Which are not too common, most probably blocked for outgoing traffic, and some may already be in use if VPN is enabled in the network.
As you can see there is a big difference, and one for your IT department to either allow or disallow.
Maybe try and explain that it is to help signal strength, and offer to let others use it too?
