I recently signed up for fiber broadband and want to connect my own router, how do I set their router to bridge mode? I am in expert settings, but it seems this is also made for children.......

Thanks

problem is solved. Cancelled Vodafone broadband today and will stay with VM.

Decision to cancel is not just because I want to use my own router, also because it seems their support is very hard to reach. For 2 days their chat function was unavailable as all their agents were busy..................really??

Phoning them could take up to two hours wait.....

though phoning and choosing cancellation was immediate 🙂

Thanks for your replies.

Hi there

I don't believe Vodafone support you connecting your own router.

Hi @Anonymous

This has been asked before.

Currently Vodafone won't officially release the settings so that a persons own 3rd party router can be used.

That said this may / may not help.

pffff..... what is it with this nonsense? I didn't choose Sky as they have this policy, but Vodafone mentions nothing about this. Feels like the UK is the only country where they have these weird requirements.

Might as well cancel today and stay with Virgin media, luckily I didn't cancel that yet.

Hi

Some do agree with you.

If I remember correctly some small print says Vodafone wouldn't be able to support a person if they didn't use the supplied router.

You're welcome and it's a shame that's had to be your conclusion to this.

Hi Anonymous

I'm sorry to hear you have left Vodafone.

If you need any further help please let us know.

Louise

Hmmm, thought I was done, but it seems Vodafone is not really cooperating. So I had to create a new account just to post here again.

So they told me they would send me a bag to return the modem/router............ 4/5 weeks and 3 phone calls later, still no bag.

I have the feeling I'll be charged for not returning the modem/router and will be dealing with this much longer than anticipated........

Why doesn't it just all work as supposed to?
