Finally jumped ship from Virgin Media to Vodafone 910Mbps service with today as an install date via City Fibre.
Engineer turned up, I told him where it was going (upstairs front bedroom of a semi detached property) and it was met with, "oh I can't get my ladder there due to the pitch of your ground floor pitched roof/canopy". Apparently the ladder would come too far out for it to be secured to the wall?! Now I am not overly familar with ladders but I know for sure that ladder stabilisers and things like ladder mate exist and really should be standard kit?
Funnily enough it would have been possible to connect the line from the pole to just below the roof guttering, have it drop down to the pitched roof via a bracket and then into the living room wall...
I think I need to ring up Virgin Media and the gutter fitters that have been here previously to tell them that the work they carried out wasn't possible without scaffolding....
